This interactive and comprehensive half-day course has been designed to assist employers in meeting their legal obligations under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
The course provides the necessary knowledge to enable those personnel who successfully complete it to carry out the duties of a Fire Warden in a professional and competent manner. The course is suitable for Managers, Supervisors, Fire Wardens requiring initial or refresher training, or any member of staff who has a specific responsibility towards fire safety.
The course syllabus includes the following topics:
- Fire legislation
- Common causes of fire
- The nature of fire and chemistry of combustion
- Fire alarms
- Fire prevention
- Routine fire inspections and maintenance of a fire log
- Roles and duties of a fire warden
- The main causes and effects of fires in the workplace
- Actions on the outbreak of a fire
- Identification and use of fire extinguishers (including practical session)
- Emergency evacuation procedures
- Safety features within buildings
Course Duration: 3½ hours approximately.
Location: Training can be conducted at your premises at a time and date to meet your needs. Regular public courses are run on our own premises.
